Ashley Fine
Dancing and teaching are two of my greatest passions. I have been dancing
throughout my entire life and I have worked as a teacher in various capacities for over fifteen years. I am
a certified elementary educator and hold a masters degree in education. I have taught dance classes and
led workshops in Arizona, Texas and California. The Academy of Performing Arts has been one of my
homes for dance since it opened, and it is a gift to share my love for performing arts and the joy of dance
with my students.
My dance training has primarily included modern and ballet technique; however, I have also studied jazz, tap, improvisation, butoh, and several African dance styles.
I regularly collaborate with other artists to create original performances, including site-specific dance pieces. Recent collaborations have been with performance artists such as the Bridgewalkers and Verbobala. Over the years I have worked with numerous dance and theater groups including the CORE Dance Project, Center Dance Ensemble (Phoenix, AZ) and Mills Repertory Dance Company (Oakland, CA). I have also performed with Arizona Classical Theater, Prescott Fine Arts Association, Yavapai College Concert Dance, Human Nature, and Mizu Desierto.
