Danielle Kelly
Danielle started dancing at the Betty Jane Turner School of Dance in Connecticut, where she studied tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, and lyrical for 15 years.
She attended the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, a magnet arts high school in Hartford, CT where she majored in Creative Writing and began taking rhythm tap, modern, African, and swing dance. After graduating high school, Danielle attended Lesley University in Cambridge, MA where she started the college's first ever Dance Team and was the director and lead choreographer for two years. She taught tap, modern, hip hop, and musical performance.
In 2008, Danielle transferred to Prescott College where she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Arts, focusing on dance and creative writing as expressive healing tools. At Prescott College she built her dance vocabulary in Contact Improvisation, Butoh, Authentic Movement, Contemporary Dance and Performance Technique, and co-taught a course titled Choreography in the Community. She is passionate about teaching dance using intuition and the multiple intelligences, and believes that the balance between technique and improvisation can enhance a dancer's capacity to dance.
